On the outer band of this substantial ring is "EMPIRE FRANCAIS", the year - 1868 and the coin's denomination - 5 F. "NAPOLEON III EMPEREUR" is on the inner band. The edge of the ring bears the inscription "DIEU PROTEGE LA FRANCE".
