Minted in sterling silver in 1887, this Victorian Jubilee Shilling makes a stunning coin ring that retains all the beautiful intricacies of the coin from which it is crafted.
The outer band features a crown surrounded by a belt with the motto of the British chivalric Order of the Garter -MAL Y PENSE HONI SOIT QUI meaning "shamed be whoever thinks ill of it".
The inner band bears the legend VICTORIA DEI GRATIA BRITT: REGINA F: D: (Victoria by the Grace of God, Queen of the Britains, Defender of the Faith).
This ring is made from one of the smaller coins we use and has a band width of approx 6mm with a maximum size of P (US 7.5).
