The West African States Coin Ring is handmade from a 90% silver 500 Franc coin issued in 1972 to mark the 10th Anniversary of the Monetary Union .
The outer band of the ring features the names and shields of the seven member West African States in 1972: Haute-Volta (currently Burkina Faso), Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, Togo, Ivory Coast, and Dahomey (currently Benin).
On the inner band of the ring it reads "BANQUE CENTRALE DES ETATS D'AFRIQUE DE L'OUEST" & "1 NOVEMBRE 1972"
This ring is crafted from a large coin and can only be made in sizes 10 (U) and up. The width of the band is approximately 12mm. The ring pictured is a size V (US 10.5).
